| ER: | For a long time, centuries at least, people thought that Atlantis was just a myth. Plato and the Egyptians wrote about it, as did others since then, yet you write about Atlantis as if it actually existed. Was Atlantis a real, historical place and are your stories about real people who lived there? |
| CD: |
I
need to stress that all the books in the Atlantian Records series are
works of fiction in the sense that none of the characters, incidents
and dialogs are based on known historical events. I realize that some
readers will view these stories as allegorical or as a metaphor of our
time. I assure you that in no way was this my intention as I sat down
to write them. Mostly, they are entertaining stories that are fun to
read and wonderful to speculate about. |
| ER: | Many of your readers believe that these books are something more than fiction. How to you answer them? |
| CD: |
From
the start these books went a step beyond fiction. The process of
writing them was odd and inexplicable. The books resulted from an
extraordinary series of dreams that I had between September 24 and
September 26, 2009. |
| ER: | You make it sound like those dates are significant in some way. Are they? |
| CD: |
Ironically,
the last day of my dreams corresponds to the anniversary of the Fall of
Atlantis, which (according to the Atlantian Records quoted in these
books) occurred at 9:36 AM Atlantian Time, September 26, 10,513 BC. |
| ER: |
Other than the timing, what else was special about your dreams?
|
| CD: | For one thing, I had the same dream, word for word, three nights in a row. This dream was so lucid and compelling I felt like I was actually living it or watching it on 3-D TV. People close to me encouraged me to write them down. That task turned out to be more than I bargained for. In the end, I put my life as a business consultant on hold so that I could do this project justice. |
